I have a '08 Corolla, doesn't have much pick up but is a nice Low-maintenance ride. Gas mileage is good and I haven't had any problems with yet. *Knocks wood* Mine is red, so it is far less Boring than the one in the Picture. :-)

I had this car for almost 6 months and becoming my favorite. The best part of the interior is simplicity. When I test drive Civic and Corolla the dashboard made a huge difference, it's clean and simple. You don't see too many options and easy to pinpoint. The pick up seems to be a problem on freeways and I guess that's fine for the quality and prize. The spacing is better than 2009 and earlier versions.

I just bought a 1997 Corolla w/103,000 miles for $2800. I hope it goes for many more miles and at least a few more years but when it came to a car, that's all I really could spend (w/out dipping in my travel fund). Toyota has a great rep for 'going the distance.' Hopefully, it will be better than my last car. Plus the 1997 is great considering I'm stuck in a 90's timewarp anyway.

They're not horrible cars, but they just don't have enough leg room. UPDATE: Mrs. Twan loves her Corolla, but it's too small for me to drive. I drove it around town for a few minutes so the engine would be warm enough for her dad to change the oil, but its just way too small to be able to drive for more than a few minutes. It just doesn't have any leg room, my legs rub against the steering wheel, and if I sit in such a way that I can actually drive it, I hit my head. The one positive is that there is enough space for me to sit fairly comfortably in the passenger seat, which isn't true of all small cars. Because of the space problems, if we're going on a long enough trip where we might want to take turns driving, we have to take my car.

Toyotas are great cars. I had a 81 Corolla that I bought new for 14 years until I traded it in for a 95 Corolla. The 81 still ran like a top and all it ever needed was normal upkeep and maintenance. I liked the 95 also and traded it in for a new 2000 Camry V6 that I still have. I didn't have any trouble with the 95, but I've had to have the head gasket replaced on the Camry, but no other problems so far. I love the Camry and my friend also still has a 2000 Camry that she bought new and she loves it, too.

Great car!! I had a sports edition one and I had no problems. Toyota and Lexus have quality engines. Anyways, if you are trying to hit the gas (accelerate)...this probably wouldn't be the car for you.

The new generation Corolla is an example of Toyota's severe decline in quality.  The interior is cheap looking and not very well assembled.  The car lacks the quality that Toyota was once known for.

The definition of practical, I suppose. Rather boring too, however. If you like your purchases to reflect your personality, all this is going to indicate is that you're fairly vanilla.

Practical car. They aren't too pricey either. As another reviewer stated...great starter car.

these make perfect starter cars, hell with gas prices spiking thru the roof alot of people should look into these smaller cars, they are alot more comfortable than they use to be,have a ton more features ever comes in leather if you want it. and 32/42 mpg..can't beat it for the price

04 Corolla S w/leather. Good value, will just always comprimise with the steering wheel being too far forward & the mpg as advertised, it's less. It really needs to be able to telescope towards the driver. Heated seats in the leather option would be a plus too.

My car is a 1997 model but I bought it from a dealer secondhand in 2001 with 66,000 miles. The dealer apparently gave me a good deal but I wasn't to sure with the color. Now I'm not too worried about it. The car runs great, gives good gas mileage, and has had some repairs for brake replacements, etc. Now it has 125,000 miles.

I got my 2005 Corolla last summer and I have done my share of traveling from Virginia Beach to Roanoke and DC. Each way I can get there on a half of tank of gas. It is so great on gas especially with the high prices on gas I don't have to fill her up too much! I plan on keeping it for a very long time. Great Traveling car indeed! I am very happy with my car!

This car unlike Nissans defines bang for your buck. Dependable, sporty and plan quality for the price.

I have an '88 Toyota Corrolla. It has run 7 years longer than everyone had expected. It was totalled before my dad got it and it now has over 322,000 miles and it gets me to school and back everyday. I love it and when I get the money I am going to get a newer model. These cars are great.

One of my dream cars. I can just imagine me sitting behind the wheel of one of those--a red one. The Corolla has a nice sleek texture to it, with rounded curves and soft edges. Great gas mileage, safety measures, and excellent speed. A manual LE model is my dreamship.

I love my Corolla. It's a 1996 model with 113,000 miles on it, and it's never given me any trouble. It gets great gas mileage and is fun to drive.

Model 1996 amazing looking car -Model 1998-2000 damn ugly looking car .. 2001-2004 yes its the same .. but the body is way bigger than the engine capacity - tires are so thin !!! for god sake you need atleast a 14 tires to match that body .. AC is perfect rear side is kinda funny ( 2001-2004 )

I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla LE. She is black, has an automatic transmission, and is fully loaded including a stock sunroof. I have had this car for quite a while now and haven't had ANYTHING go wrong with her. I'm actually in the process of modifying her to be a show/track car. My only discrepancies would be the ugly beige interior and the cup holders. There's no point in having them. EVERYTHING spills when you go around a turn.. no matter how slow you go, something will spill.

Nice little car and can go and go for a long time, but I can't go with 5 stars with this one. It is still a small budget car and anything small looks kinda cheap to me with the little skinny 12 inch tires, but the price tag is nice and a good car for a college student. If you really want to do it up spend more and treat yourself to a Nissan Altima.

The 03 redseign made this one better. Its still not the leader, but its way at the top. The Corolla's greatest thing about it is its reliability. The Top Four Economies: Focus, Protege, Corolla, and Civic.

This is a very reliable small sedan. Mine is 8 years old and runs like a top. No mechanical trouble in 8 years! Was rear-ended 2 years ago and almost totalled. But even after extensive body work she still runs fine and looks good.

I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla LE and havent had a major problem yet! The only thing I don't like about it is the back floor space is crampy and the sun visor is too close to the rearview mirror other than that Its a great economical Little car and great gas mileage. It looks like they improved significly with the new 2003 Corollas with more floor room in the back and better exterior style especially the sport model.

As a driver of a '97 model, the Corolla wins hands down in the three Rs - refinement, resale and reliability and will run circles around any Cavalier/Sunfire or Neon. My only gripe is the car's overall lack of distinctive personality. Is it as fun to drive as the Honda Civic? No. Is it as flashy as the Pontiac Sunfire GT sedan? Again, no. One other thing: the Corolla, mine at least, has the worst sounding factory audiio system out there with only two front speakers standard. This can be easily remedied though by having two more aftermarket speakers installed behind the rear seats.

This car has great pick-up for a 4 cylinder engine. Runs so smoothly, that it has the feel of a luxary car. My only complaint has to do with the interior. It looks cheap, and should be improved.

I currently own a 1998 Corolla LE.. my first Corolla was a 1992. Previously I owned a Tercel. I do a lot of driving for my work.. so, I do push these cars pretty hard. For the most part, I have been happy with my Toyotas, however, I have not been as happy with my 98 Corolla. It drives beautifully.. but the interior seems to be poorly made and designed. For instance, the utility door beneath the radio on the dashboard broke off its hinge within a few months of my purchasing the vehicle. The hinge is just plastic and obviously not strong enough to withstand normal use.. The design of the cup holder is also poor.. It claims to be able to hold different size cups, but it is too large for soda cans, which spill unless one has a can on each side. I also had the car heater fan fail before the car hit its first 30K miles.. very disappointing.

The Toyota rates as a good compact car. It does all that you can ask of a car in this class.

This has got to be the most reliable car ever sold. Great gas mileage and a decent overall package. However, I do wonder about safety issues if you were involved in a wreck. Actually, I know someone who hit a horse an totaled their Corolla (1991), but they walked away just fine. The horse was O.K. too.
