I own a 2008 Landcruiser with 9500 miles on it. This is the fourth Land Cruiser I have owned. Greatest vehicle I have ever had, fast and handles like a sports car...a big one..but still a sports car. My son drives my old 1998 and has 350,000 miles on it with just brakes, tires, one starter and a widow motor replaced. You can't kill them. I spoke to a few Toyota dealer and not one has ever heard of either the six or the new eight engines ever being replaced.

A good ORIGINAL offroader...used to be a solid offroader, these days a more of a mom/soccer practice hauler.

There are better SUVs but Toyota makes a reliable car.

Reliable yes but for $60K it falls short in many areas from my perspective. Have owned for a bout a year and the handling is second rate,a very clumsy vehicle with lots of sway in turns, acceleration mediocre, gas guzzler barely 13 combined, busted front seat belts, dvd player quits intermittently, inability to control interior lighting by drive, no outside auto dimming mirrors, no rain sense wipers, I could go on. Toyota advertises this vehicle as luxury but Toyota cannot do luxury (except Lexus) Think twice and compare before you buy this vehicle. Hate to be negtive but that is how i see it.

Have had a great experience overall with our 2000 Landcruiser. We bought it, in part for its legendary durability, however, in the last year have had to replace the starter motor, and most recently both manifolds...not sure if the engine is a bit of a lemon, this vehicle has been well taken care of, highway and town miles, nothing off road.

In 1996 I purchased my first Land Cruiser. My Daughter had just born and needed more space for travelling. I sold it last year with 137,000 miles. NEVER had a problem with the vehicle. Just needed a change. My daugter cried and reminded me of all the fun times she had in it. I Told her i was going to get a Denalli she threw a fit. Now I drive a 1999 Land Cruiser with no problem so far. I WOULD RATHER DRIVE A LAND CRUISER or DRIVE NOTHING. Comfort, speed, room, ETC. Just wonderful. If you can get a well maintained one like did its worth it. It will run in the low 20's or in my case 19's. Bout from a wonderful couple upstate New York. They purchased the NEW 2006 which has GPS.

Land Rover could take a lesson from Toyota. When I was in the military humping around Afghanistan all you saw was landcruisers, some of them fifteen or more years old. In a country where rocks are high tech car repair tools, I think it's a testament to just how well made Landcruisers (and all Toyotas for that matter) are built.

so damn powerful and reliable seats are comfortable but its should come with a 4800 ltrs as standard - i strongly recomend that car for those who wants to take a wild smooth ride in the desserts and explore what a car can do its way more than just driving

The old fj40 model forged it's rep worldwide, and for very good reason. It was built like a brick $#*house and outperformed those Jeep cj's in all catagories. Don't be fooled by the new ones. They are truly wolves in sheeps clothing. I realize that most soccer moms won't be going off road (at least not voluntarily), but the ability is still there!

Its very reliable, dependable, awesome off road, and roomy. But its way overpriced, competitors offer real third row seats.

I own a 2000 Landcruiser that has been reliable and trouble free through the first 50,xxx miles. The V-8 offers plenty of smooth delivered power and a firm but decent ride. Around town MPG is about 12-14 MPG, and Highway 16-18 MPG. The fit and finish is impecable. Although somewhat pricey, the Landcruiser promises to be an excellent long term vehicle making it worth the extra bucks. I don't think a comparable GM product, Chrysler, or Ford will give its owner the long tern relibility and satisfaction of a Landcruiser.

best damn 4 wheel drive ever made at production and by history proving it over and over again it is the legend but it is a shame to see the serious 4x4 being taken over by the american consumer and losing it into the luxury world.(they should of kept the fj40.

All you can ask for in an SUV + the reliability of a Toyota = a win-win combination in my book. I just love this rig!

There are so many Land Cruisers! I owned a Land Cruiser BJ 45 1982 model. A terrific vehicle that outmaled anything on the road until the Hummer came. Jeep Safari style but bigger and harder. A 4 cylinder 3,4 litre diesel that pulled and pulled and pulled. No frills whatsoever except that you could roll down the side windows. Of course you could fold down the wind shield. The present Land Cruiser 100 is different! An extremely competent vehicle with all luxury items on board except a foam bath. In between are a lot of models i would give three or maybe four stars.

If we're talking the new ones and by that I mean anything between 1980 and now I don't care so much for them. However, if we are talking the classic safari style vehicle of the 70's then we've got a whole other story on our hands. Those Cruisers are something to be desired. When I was living in Costa Rica a buddy of mine had an early 70's Land Cruiser that he used to let me take all day while he was working and man was that thing a blast to drive. Up the mountain grinding it out in low gear, tooling around the cities and towns bumping along, great truck and a lot of fun.

Excellent style, easy maintenance (have never had a problem with any Toyota)..V-8..good gas mileage (for an SUV). You simply FEEL safer in an SUV, and in my opinion, the Landcruiser is the cream of the crop!

It's a nice, luxury sports utility vehicle. It looks good, is comfortable, and even though it's expensive, it's worth it.

All SUVs are a symbol of the arrogance, greed and rampant consumerism of Americans. They should be banned.
