At the start of the 09/2010 season I bought a Brand new Lamar Team board. I have been riding for 13 years and this board performs with any high-end brand such as Burton K2 or Lib-tech. I'm not saying this board had all the others beat, but I would rather ride a high-end board from Lamar that cost $350 than a high end board from Burton that cost $500. I promiss you that the only difference you will find is in your wollet. I also was sold on the 2 year warrenty when the expensive brands only gave you 1. It seems to me that a company that will back their gear with twice the warrenty at 2/3 of the price is probably a good one to go with.

Lamar boards... where do I begin. I have been riding for 14 yrs now and have always bought a brand name, such as burton, santa cruz, and k2. This year I received a Lamar as a Christmas gift, so I decided to give this board a shot. The first opinion of the board when I looked at it was that it was light and had a fairly decent flex, along with some neat graphics. This all changed on my first slope when I was bombing a hill to keep up with my friends who where carving, the board is SLOW. When I decided to hit my first box rail it was as if somebody put sandpaper on the UHMW, planstic. and i was sticking to the box, really? I must say the board did perform well on a jump line, and some backcountry through trees, I feel it made that easier because I going slower, even tho i was not carving lol. For a beginner rider I would def recommend but for somebody who enjoys backcountry, urban, and freestyle get a brand name. Remember you get what you pay for!

    * People get "stuck" on their favorites because there's no way most of us can afford to ride ALL the boards out there so, we are ALL partial (in case you haven't realized it yet, that's what marketing's all about) ~ I've been riding for 20 years now and I've ridden a few boards, and a ton of conditions from the East coast to the West. Over the years I've gone back to my roots of surfing, and have learned to love the powder & back-country cruising (or what my circle calls "four wheeling"). Now, you'll never see my face on the Dew Tour or the Xgames, but I consider myself to be a rider with a little soul, that loves to feel the carve whether on water or snow. That being said, the one thing I know to be a fact is ~ "My Lamar Xtra Wide kicks ass." I've owned it for 10 years now, and for my style it's been a real monster on the crud on the East coast as well as the steep & deeps out West. I was afraid of the price when I bought it, but it has more than proven itself to be top dog in my ... Read more

i just bought a lamar 159 tripper and i thinks its great. its fast, lightweight, and has a smooth ride ..... when you buy a burton, saloman or rossignol board you just get the pleasure of paying about $100 more for the name

Lamar boards are amazing. i got my package for 350 and the only problems i've had are with the bindings. there is no reason to go with a 500 or $600 board when lamar often makes a cheaper, higher quality board.

Just got a Lamar board. It was just the right price for me, dont know how it rides, but my neighbor has one and it seemed to be a familiar company. Lamar is no off brand, go ahead and buy one if you want.

Lamar was sick when Kevin Jones rocked them. After that, there quality severly declined. No wonder they flourish in Big 5.

My first time snowboarding I rented from the ski shop. And the board was a Burton Cruizer, cant say much about because I was just learning to snowboard. But the next time I went I had my own board and yes it was a lower end Lamar Dragon for about $160.Compared to a lower end Burton at about $250 it was well worth the money and I'm still riding the Lamar and doing very well on it.It seems to be just like most things you buy from a retail store anymore you pay for the name not the Quality.

I've been boarding for about 5 years and I just got a Lamar Intrigue. Nice, stiff board okay at high speeds, but really has no get up and go. A couple of really bad things, though-- shakes at high speeds and gets fairly unstable, and doesn't really plow through the cruddy piles. Really soft topcoat that scratches if you just look at it! Bottom is ok, but the sides REALLY chip bad-- tons of gouges. Overall, a good beginner board because you can get a fairly decent one for like a hundred bucks.

I started riding on a Lamar in 95. Since then I have owned a Sims, Forum, LibTech and I have riden demo boards like Burton and Salomon. Those boards were all good dont get me wrong, but boards like Forum and Burton are way overpriced and over marketed to youth expecially with their recent adds which are plastered all over snowboard magazines and shops! This year i am investing in a new board, bindings and boots, and guess who I am going straight to for a board... thats right Lamar. Just because they sell them in sporting goods stores and arent exclusivly sold in over the top priced skate shops doesnt mean their a "lower end board". I have been riding for 10 years and throughout all my experiences Lamar has been the best for quality as well as price. -MegAn

Lamar boards are great boards, very flexible, higher priced boards are overpriced and way overated. They need to get to get their online site going.

Lamar snowboards is a good board to have during your first or second time snowboarding so you can mess it up. After that, it's a waste of money. You'd probably enjoy riding a Burton, K2, Saloman, or even a Palmer a lot more than a Lamar.

Lamar boards are way overrated on this website. There is no way that they are better than Gnu boards. They are really flexible but that is like the only good thing about them.

Lamar boards are sick yo! But hard to find... They make good jackets and clothes for winter. It's a familiar company so I'll use it. They have the right style for me. I snowboard a lot and my friends use Lamar.

I ride a Lamar custom and it is the best board I've ever owned. It is extremely light weight and more flexible than most brands. Sick graphics.
