This is not a solution to anything! Why reward immigrants who did not come here legally? Both parties suffer on this issue, but this idea was STUPID from the beggining. Illegal immigrants already get enough benefits.

This is a reversal as he did vote for a measure requiring illegal immigrants to get licenses and having the Illinois DMV not require proof of citizenship. But it's one Obama had to make to survive politics on the national level. It's a practical solution to serious local issues that just won't survive the demagoguery around the issue outside of the blue states.
