Granted its not significant, but neither is making sure ur tires are properly inflated lol. At least its some kind of action. Anything will help. Congress doesnt really wanna help.

This one was not significant either. The holiday gas tax was not going to save us much money at all. Gas prices still would have been outrageous and would be only a temporary fix.

I don't know that I'd call this a flip-flop.

It's a cheap, whorish attempt to attract votes, however.

And its utterly impractical

I don't see this as a f/f, just flat out, ill-advised, fruitless pandering. The combination of state and federal taxes on gasoline, which vary substantially from state to state, are generally obscene. The pounding of the table to drill has given much more immediate relief than this silly scheme.

McCain knows better than this, especially since the issue didn't buy Hillary Clinton any votes when she pandered on the same issue.
