 | EschewObfuscation (71) 08/03/2008 | I give McCain credit for being slightly, and I mean very slightly, more in tune with ordinary Americans who are clamoring for relief from very high oil prices. If that is a flip-flop, most people are tapping their fingers at Obama, waiting for him to show some concern for their difficulty. Pining away for alternatives to oil, most Americans agree, won't be helpful for 10 to 25 years. McCain's slogan "drill here, drill there, drill now" resonates asnd leaves Obama looking like an uncaring elitiist, lecturing about pumping up tires and conserving.

A big reversal for something that will bring very little and risk great uglification of our coasts, plus the spill risk. McCain was wrong by the way. Lots of oil was spilled by Katrina.
